Seminar
«Advocating for a Change»
In Spa St. Martin on Mura, NDC Osijek organised a weekend seminar for parents, mebers of Parents' Club «For the Children of Vukovar», and teachers involved in The New School Project.
The goal of the seminar was adopting and improving knowledge and skills needed for advocating and lobbying.

Vukovar – City of various possibilities
 
In the framework of the «Building of Sustainable Communities in the Areas of Return», under the leadership of the MI organisation from Split, Parents' Club «For the Children of Vukovar» in cooperation with NDC Osijek has developed and realised the project called «Vukovar – City of various possibilities »
The project was realised in the partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and with a financial support of the Royal Dutch Government.
 
The goal of the project was to make local community more sensible and aware of the need to accept differences, as well as others, based on a rich multicultural heritage of Vukovar region.

The New School Project was presented on the panel-discussion Rethinking Social Distance and Intimacy in Divided Towns of Former Yugoslavia, in the framework of 2006 ASN Conference on Globalization, Nationalism and Ethnic Conflict in the Balkans and its Regional Context (ASN Conference Belgrade 2006) that took place from September 28 – 30, 2006. The conference was organized by Forum for Ethnic Relations. www.fer.org.yu


 
In the framework of The New School Project, a seminar called "Education – the Key to Developing Identity and Intercultural Society" was held in Lillehammer, Norway from 31st of August to 10th of September 2006.
 
Participants at the seminar were representatives of the Parents’ Club “For the Children of Vukovar”, representatives of Public Department of the city of Vukovar and of Vukovar-Sirmyum County, teachers and expert associates from primary schools in Osijek and Vukovar, representative of the Coordination of Councils of National Minorities of the County, a representative of Agency for Upbringing and Education, as well as activists from Nansen Dialogue Centre Osijek.
The goal of the seminar was to connect different segments, organisations, institutions and social groups in order for them to jointly develop further steps and work on the realisation of the new intercultural and integrated school in Vukovar.
 
Seminar was supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.

 
NDC’s activists, representatives of Parents’ Club and teachers involved in The New School project have took part on 9th Days of Volunteers, held in Split on 19th and 20th of May.
