EDUCATION OF THEIR CHILDREN IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN
VUKOVAR

the framework of The New School project, 256 families
with children attending primary schools have been
interviewed, from October 2004, to January 2005. They
gave their opinions and attitudes about the quality of
primary education in Vukovar.
Research
goals were:
-
Open
communication and build up trust – show people that
somebody is interested in their problems and is
willing to listen to them
-

parents' attitude about the quality of education their
children are receiving, and also find out what is
their attitude about a present organisation of
education for minority members in the region of
Vukovar

participation in the creation of The New School
Obtained
results showed that 52,7% of parents are not satisfied
with the present organisation of education in Vukovar,
that only 2% of all parents know about different
education models for minority members, that 81,25% of
parents think children should attend classes together,
and 64,8%of parents support the idea of learning about
inter-culturality in the school. 46,9% of parents
